Crystal Engineering manufactures Digital Pressure Calibrators, Digital Pressure Gauges, multimeter pressure modules (MultiCals) and other pressure measuring equipment in an 11,400 sq. ft. facility, located between San Francisco and Los Angeles, in San Luis Obispo, adjacent to the airport.
This modern facility is fully air-conditioned, and humidity controlled, with static controlled floors and surfaces throughout.
Crystal Engineering specializes in pressure calibration and measurement equipment intended for field use, not just well controlled laboratory environments. Their Pressure Calibrators and Digital Pressure Gauges have very accurate "of reading" specifications, and they are not derated for temperature effects over their specified operating temperature range.
To assure these specifications, each gauge and calibrator is thoroughly tested under varying environmental conditions, in test chambers. Testing is automated - high accuracy pressure controllers from DH Instruments control applied pressure, and all test data is recorded to dedicated network servers, with fully automated (robotic tape handling) archival backup. All test results are stored, and accessible by product serial number.
Crystal is often asked: Do they design and manufacture the products, or is manufacturing or design subcontracted? While they subcontract sub-assemblies, final assembly and test is done entirely in their facility. And all design work - mechanical, electrical, firmware and test software, is done in-house.
